Carnforth School opens its doors at 8:45 and the school day starts at 8:50. The school finishes at 3:15pm.
Drop off and Collection
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school. If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset.
Getting to school
If you can, we encourage pupils to walk, cycle or even scoot to school. We have a bike rack and a scooter cage to ensure bikes and scooters can be left securely at school during the school day. Please ensure your child wears a helmet. Please note: riding bikes and scooters on the school playground is strictly prohibited. All forms of transport must be disembarked at the school gates and must not be re-embarked until off school premises. If you need to travel by car, please park responsibly outside the school, ensuring that our neighbours have safe access to their properties.
A Typical Day
Children begin their day with a morning mission which involves a problem / task / or question set by the teaching staff. Formal lessons begin promptly at 9:00. All children will have a morning break, an assembly and a lunchtime break throughout the day.
