Welcome To Reception
We are a really looking forward to making lots of memories in our first year of school. We will have lots of fun this year and look forward to seeing you make new friends and watch these friendships grow throughout the year. Our adults In Reception are Miss Cole, Mrs Riciu and Miss Aranyosi.
Routines
We begin every morning with our RWI phonics sessions, We learn new sounds and develop our blending knowledge so we are ready to read. We also practise writing these sounds so we are ready to start writing words. In the morning, we also have a Maths session, where we learn about and enjoy taking part in lots of practical mathematical activities.
In the afternoon, we enjoy joining in with a variety of activities such as Topic, PE and Treetop Tuesdays. We spend time exploring both the indoor and outdoor areas in the afternoons, lettinge our imaginations take off! We also enjoy exploring a variety of science experiments, where we watch how things change and talk about why things happen.
During our play, we aim to show off our Learning Superpowers with: Resilient Rex, Collaborative Cleo, Thinking Theo, Risktaking Rio, Communicator Coral and Curiosity Cam. Your child will receive a sticker if they show any of these Learning Superpowers and will be able to talk to you about what they did to earn it.
